Woman Critically Injured in Brooklyn Bike Path Stabbing

The woman was running on a cycling trail close to Bay Parkway and Cropsey Avenue when someone stabbed her. The assault happened in the Bath Beach neighborhood shortly after 8 p.m. on October 30.

Emergency responders brought her to Brooklyn’s NYU Langone Hospital; her condition was critical. Family members found her after she failed to meet them as planned; she had a stab wound to her neck.

No arrests had been made, and police had not provided a description of a suspect. The circumstances of the stabbing and any possible motive had not been established. Detectives with the 62nd Precinct were investigating.
