Brooklyn Man Charged in Bed-Stuy Rape

Police said the woman was near Bedford and Willoughby avenues shortly after 12:30 a.m. on November 1 when a man riding an e-bike approached her from behind and slapped her buttocks over her clothing. He then rode away, authorities said.

As the woman tried to enter her residential building, the man returned and followed her inside, police said. He allegedly sexually assaulted and raped her on a staircase before leaving on the e-bike. She received care at a nearby medical facility, where doctors described her condition as stable.

Mayna Cordero Reynaldo, 35, was arrested at about 10 p.m. on November 2 within the 77th Precinct, police said. He faced allegations of rape, two sexual-abuse counts, and two forcible-touching counts.

Authorities continue to look into the case.‌
