Cardinals Rally Past Cowboys for Overtime Win

Arizona overturned a 17-3 deficit and secured a 33-30 overtime victory in Dallas. Ryland’s 42-yard field goal ended the game after his missed extra point had denied the Cardinals a regulation win moments earlier. The result extended Arizona’s winning streak over Dallas to five games and left the Cardinals 5-0 at AT&T Stadium since it opened in 2009.

Tyler Allgeier powered the comeback, finishing with 191 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns. His 63-yard scoring run was followed by a 50-yard gain that helped set up a five-yard touchdown catch. With Arizona’s other available running backs sidelined by injuries, Allgeier accounted for nearly all of his production after halftime.

Gardner Minshew took over for Jacoby Brissett in the third quarter and led the Cardinals back into the game. Arizona drove 80 yards in eight plays after taking possession with 1:05 remaining, tying the score on Minshew’s 14-yard touchdown pass to Michael Wilson with six seconds left. Ryland missed the extra point wide left, sending the game to overtime.

After both teams went three-and-out to open the extra period, Wilson made a 17-yard catch and Allgeier added an 11-yard run to put Arizona in position for Ryland’s winning kick. Dallas held a 14-point advantage entering the fourth quarter and never trailed until the field goal. The Cowboys finished with 261 yards to Arizona’s 467, and managed no first downs on their overtime possession.

Arizona’s injury concerns grew during the game. Rookie running back Jeremiyah Love left with an ankle injury, while Bam Knight was sidelined by a concussion. Receiver Kendrick Bourne and tackle Jayden Williams also exited. The Cardinals visit Seattle next; Dallas plays at Indianapolis.
