Three Women Describe Earlier Abuse Allegations Against Josh Jacobs
Three women contacted Hobart/Lawrence police after Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was arrested in May, describing alleged physical incidents from 2021 and 2022, police records released on October 30 show. The records were part of the department’s file on the case involving Jacobs and his then-girlfriend.
One woman said Jacobs slapped her after she declined sex during a visit to his home in January 2022. She alleged that he seized her mobile and hurled it into a pool as she tried to leave, then yanked her hair and forced her onto a bed and the floor, and threatened to kill her. She said she had stayed in contact with him and had not previously reported the incident because she feared she would not be believed.
A second woman described an April 2021 encounter. She said that after a condom broke, Jacobs seized her arms, shoved her into a wall and put her belongings outside. She reported bruising and rib-area swelling. Police records from the time said officers saw no visible injuries or signs of a struggle. A third woman alleged that Jacobs seized her hair and neck, pulled her along, left scratches on her chest and took her mobile in May 2022. She said she did not report it because she lacked U.S. citizenship and feared deportation after Jacobs warned that could happen.
Jacobs entered no-contest pleas on September 10 to misdemeanor battery and criminal-damage-to-property counts stemming from the May incident. The NFL said it would review the new allegations as part of its ongoing investigation. Jacobs has returned to play for the Packers after missing the team’s first six games while on the commissioner’s exempt list. His lawyers said the earlier allegations were uncorroborated and that prosecutors had pursued only two misdemeanor charges after investigating. The Packers had no immediate comment.
