Watson Returns After Hospital Trip to Help Packers Beat Panthers

Christian Watson left Green Bay’s game against the Carolina Panthers on October 29 after a hard fall while making a 53-yard catch from quarterback Jordan Love. The Packers receiver was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital for checks after coughing up blood. He later said doctors examined him for internal bleeding and that he watched the game on a doctor’s phone while being assessed.

Watson returned to Lambeau Field in the ambulance and ran through the stadium tunnel in full pads. After medical testing, he was cleared to rejoin the game and caught a six-yard pass early in the fourth quarter.

He finished with eight receptions on 10 targets for 113 yards, helping the Packers secure a 27-19 victory. The injury was identified as a broken rib.

Watson’s status for Green Bay’s Week 9 matchup against the New England Patriots was listed as questionable. His availability could affect the roles of fellow Packers receivers Matthew Golden and Savion Williams, as well as tight end Tucker Kraft.
