Man Gets Life for Killing Conroe Pediatrician

A Montgomery County jury sentenced Miles Joseph Fridrich to life in prison after he pleaded guilty to murdering Dr. Talat Jehan Khan. The pediatrician was killed at the Alys Apartments in Conroe on October 28, 2023, according to the case details released by police. The sentence was announced on October 29, 2026.

Officers were called to the apartment complex, on Mansions View Drive, after a report of a weapons disturbance. They found Khan with multiple stab wounds, and medical personnel declared her dead at the location.

Authorities reported that witness information and officers’ response helped them set up a perimeter. Fridrich, who was 24 at the time, was arrested nearby, about 400 yards from the scene.

Khan was employed by a Texas Children’s Pediatrics location in Conroe. She had moved into the apartments with her 14-year-old daughter a few months before the killing.

Conroe police said the sentence offered some justice but could not reverse the loss, and expressed sympathy for Khan’s family and loved ones as they grieve.
