Texas Arrest in South Station Stabbing

Levy, who lives in Aubrey, Texas, surrendered at a Texas police station on October 30, the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office said. Boston police had been seeking him in the killing of Owens, 29, during an altercation at South Station. Levy was 17 when the attack occurred.

Owens, who had come to Boston from Memphis, was stabbed on an escalator connecting the Red Line platform to the station lobby at about 5:30 p.m. on August 12. He was taken to a hospital and died. His family said the dispute involved a $25 cellphone bill.

Police have said they do not believe the attack was random. Investigators said surveillance video captured Levy approaching Owens from behind and stabbing him in the neck. He then left the station and ran, discarding a bag as he fled.

Officials have not announced a date for Levy’s arraignment or specified the charges he will face. The district attorney’s office previously urged anyone who witnessed the incident or events surrounding it to contact Boston police.
