Virginia Prisoner Accused in Alleged Contract-Killing Scheme

Published October 30, 2026. Christopher L. Tinnermon, 51, was charged after investigators said he tried to set up the victim’s death in a case involving sexual assault and obscenity offenses. He was being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond on those earlier charges.

The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office said it learned earlier this year of a possible agreement to kill the victim. Detectives interviewed Tinnermon on October 28 and said his statements were consistent with evidence gathered in the investigation.

After obtaining search warrants, authorities charged him with soliciting someone to carry out a paid killing and attempting an aggravated murder for payment. Tinnermon is still being held without bond at the jail. The investigation is ongoing.
