Former McKinney Trainer Gets Five Years for Sexually Assaulting Student

On October 16, Lindsey Post, 35, admitted to abusing a child and to an educator’s inappropriate relationship with a student. A Collin County jury imposed a five-year prison term on her in late October 2026. She is required to remain on the sex offender registry for the rest of her life.

Post was employed as a sports trainer at McKinney North High School. According to prosecutors, she gained the confidence of a student in her care before sexually abusing her. The victim was 14.

McKinney police arrested Post in January 2026. Prosecutors stated that she breached her bond terms by calling the victim while she was released from jail. District Attorney Greg Willis said Post betrayed the confidence entrusted to her as a school employee and said adults who harm students would be held accountable.

The victim’s parents brought a $1 million legal claim against Post and McKinney ISD. The filing contends that the district was grossly negligent and did not avert conditions that left the student alone with Post. It states that the assaults occurred between November 2025 and January 2026, including in Post’s car. The claims made in the legal action are distinct from Post’s criminal case.

Post was put on leave while the McKinney ISD board later voted to end her employment on February 26.
