Two Killed in Bus Crash in Eastern France
On November 6, an intercity bus crashed near Lent in the Ain region of eastern France, killing a minor and a young adult, authorities said. Sixteen people were injured, including three who were seriously hurt.
The bus went off the road and ended up in a ditch. Pupils were among the riders bound for local middle and secondary schools. Emergency services and law enforcement officers were sent to the scene.
Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot said he was traveling to the site after what he described as a serious accident. Education Minister Édouard Geffray expressed sympathy for the families, saying the government and education community were thinking of them. Geffray spoke during a tour of a secondary school in the Paris area.
