Brissett Emerges as Possible Trade Candidate Before NFL Deadline
Arizona has replaced Brissett as its starting quarterback, naming Gardner Minshew to lead the team. Brissett, who has thrown for 1,719 yards, 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions in eight games, could be available as the Cardinals consider their options before the deadline.
NFL insider Adam Schefter named Brissett and Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones as two players who could be traded, while stressing that neither move was certain. Jones has passed for 1,542 yards, five touchdowns and nine interceptions in eight games, but Colts coach Shane Steichen said Jones would remain the starter for now.
Minnesota has been floated as a possible landing spot for Brissett. The Vikings are 6-1, but their offense ranks 29th in total yards per game and 27th in points per game. Brissett previously replaced Kyler Murray in Arizona after Murray was injured in 2025; Murray later joined Minnesota on a one-year contract.
A potential deal could be attractive because Brissett is an experienced quarterback on an expiring contract, though adjusting to Minnesota’s offense could be difficult. Arizona coach Mike LaFleur said informing Brissett of the change was difficult and praised him as both a person and a player, adding that the decision was not solely Brissett’s fault. The trade deadline is November 10.
