Kyler Murray Evaluated for Hamstring Injury After Vikings’ Loss
Murray’s hamstring tightened near the end of Minnesota’s first loss of the season, against Detroit on November 1. Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell said the quarterback was sore the following day and was undergoing a full evaluation.
O’Connell said the team did not yet have an answer on whether the injury would affect Murray’s availability for the matchup with the Buffalo Bills. He added that Murray would start in the Monday night game if he is healthy.
Murray completed 17 of 29 passes for 210 yards, two touchdowns and one interception against the Lions. He also led Minnesota in rushing, gaining 35 yards on four carries.
The hamstring issue comes after Murray missed a game earlier this season following a concussion in the season opener. Carson Wentz started in his place in Week 2 and led the Vikings to victories over the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears.
