MAGA solicitor general distances from Todd Blanche as DOJ accused of ballot crimes
On November 2, 2026, Solicitor General D. John Sauer asked the U.S. Supreme Court to require California to set aside mail ballots cast by people on a federal list of more than 20,000 suspected noncitizens, pending citizenship checks. The request followed lower-court rejections and a federal judge’s order barring the Justice Department from threatening California election officials with prosecution.
