Von Miller Backs Cowboys Coach After Cardinals Collapse

The Dallas Cowboys let a 14-point lead slip away against the Arizona Cardinals at AT&T Stadium on Sunday, losing in overtime despite entering the game as heavy favorites. The defeat left Dallas with a 3-5 record in the 2026 season and intensified questions about head coach Brian Schottenheimer’s future.

Arizona backup quarterback Gardner Minshew completed 17 of 23 passes for 188 yards and three touchdowns after replacing Jacoby Brissett. A missed extra point by Cardinals kicker Chad Ryland sent the game to overtime, where Arizona completed its comeback.

On November 2, veteran Cowboys linebacker Von Miller defended Schottenheimer and the coaching staff. Miller said the coaches prepared the team well and argued that the players’ performance did not reflect the coaches’ work. He also acknowledged that, in professional sports, someone would ultimately be held responsible for the loss.

Dallas is scheduled to face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9 on Sunday as it tries to recover from the defeat.
