Eagles and Commanders Set Week 8 Inactive Lists
The Eagles will face Washington without wideouts DeVonta Smith, Britain Covey and Dontayvion Wicks. Linebacker Jihaad Campbell, cornerback Jonathan Jones and offensive lineman Jake Majors are also inactive. Philadelphia gets edge rusher Nolan Smith back, and running back Saquon Barkley is available despite hamstring and back problems earlier in the week.
Washington’s inactive list includes starting defensive tackles Daron Payne and Javon Kinlaw, leaving the team short-handed on the interior defensive line. The Commanders also ruled out quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis as their emergency third quarterback, along with cornerbacks Fabian Moreau and Isaac Yiadom and guard Tanoa Togiai. Defensive lineman Jer’Zhan Newton remains on injured reserve.
Receivers Treylon Burks and tight end John Bates will be available for Washington after entering the weekend questionable with foot and shoulder injuries, respectively. Quarterback Marcus Mariota is also available to back up Jayden Daniels, and defensive lineman Charles Omenihu returns after missing the team’s previous game. Washington elevated Byron Cowart from its practice squad to bolster the defensive line.
The matchup is a Week 8 rematch set for November 1 at Northwest Stadium. Philadelphia is also without quarterback Jalen Hurts, who is on injured reserve for the season, with Tanner McKee taking over as starter.
