Raiders Rally Past Jets to End Four-Game Losing Streak

The Raiders overturned a nine-point halftime gap to defeat the Jets 38-33 in East Rutherford. Kirk Cousins threw three touchdown passes and ran for a score, while rookie Mike Washington Jr. rushed for 83 yards on 25 carries. Las Vegas improved to 4-4; the Jets fell to 2-6 and have lost three straight.

New York scored on its first six possessions and led 30-21 after Braelon Allen ran for a 21-yard touchdown. The Raiders responded with two Cousins touchdowns, including a one-yard run late in the third quarter. Las Vegas scored 14 points in the third, its highest total in that quarter this season, after entering the game with only three points across its previous four third quarters.

With the Raiders trailing by two in the fourth, Cousins found Ashton Jeanty on a screen. Jeanty turned the play into a 45-yard gain, helping set up a two-yard touchdown pass to Jalen Nailor that put Las Vegas ahead, 35-30. Jeanty finished with 64 receiving yards on three catches and nine rushing yards on two carries. Matt Gay added a 53-yard field goal late.

The Jets had one last chance, but Jeremy Chinn intercepted Geno Smith’s end-zone throw with 14 seconds left. Smith passed for 290 yards and two touchdowns, while Allen ran for 147 yards and a score. Raiders cornerback Darien Porter left with a groin injury after the team’s first defensive play and did not return. Las Vegas visits San Francisco next Sunday; New York travels to Kansas City.
