Explicit Material Found in Thomas Markle’s Mexico Storage Unit

On October 30, an abandoned storage unit in Rosarito, Mexico, rented by Thomas Markle was found to contain magazines, books and photographs described as sexually explicit, including material depicting children. The FBI was alerted after the discovery. Markle denies wrongdoing.

The unit contained about 20 boxes, along with family mementoes, letters and photographs. The items also included more than 50 videotapes, computer equipment, seven hard drives, USB drives and cameras. The contents of the tapes and digital devices have not been established.

The storage unit was reportedly rented in 2017, and Markle stopped paying rent in 2024. He left Rosarito in January 2025 and later lived at his son’s home in the Philippines. Philippine police are investigating allegations about images found among boxes of his possessions there, after his son alerted authorities. A warrant was obtained for that inquiry.

Philippine official Jonvic Remulla said earlier in the week that the allegations could indicate a serious offense. Markle could face 10 to 12 years in prison if charged and convicted, the report said. He did not respond to requests for comment.
