Chiefs, Broncos face key injury questions before AFC West clash

The Kansas City Chiefs could be without rookie cornerback Mansoor Delane for Sunday's AFC West game against the Denver Broncos. Delane missed practice Thursday and Friday with a shoulder injury and was listed as questionable, leaving his availability uncertain.

The injury affects the same shoulder that troubled Delane during training camp and preseason, then forced him out early in Week 1 and sidelined him through Week 2. He has played nearly every defensive snap since returning in Week 3, including all of the Chiefs' defensive snaps in their loss to Seattle last weekend. Coach Andy Reid said the team would monitor how Delane responds.

Kansas City also listed cornerback L'Jarius Sneed, who has a knee injury, as questionable. Defensive end R Mason Thomas is listed as questionable after missing Friday's practice for a personal issue; Reid said Thomas would join the team in Denver. Receiver Rashee Rice and tight end Travis Kelce practiced fully Friday and have no game designation, while defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott is out as he continues recovering from an ACL injury.

Denver ruled out safety Talanoa Hufanga with an ankle injury and running back RJ Harvey with a knee injury. Defensive tackle Zach Allen, receiver Jaylen Waddle and tackle Garrett Bolles are questionable. Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II practiced fully throughout the week and has no designation.

Delane, the sixth overall pick in the 2026 draft, has recorded 27 tackles, five passes defensed and one interception in seven weeks. The Chiefs enter the matchup after a 20-3 loss to Seattle; the status of the questionable players could shape both teams' lineups Sunday.
