Druski Makes SNL Hosting Debut With Emma Stone Cameo

Druski made his hosting debut on Saturday Night Live on November 7, becoming the first online entertainer with no movie or television series currently out to host the sketch-comedy program. The Strokes were the musical guest, making their fifth appearance on the show in that role.

In his monologue, Druski joked about the way audiences know him from online sketches, including his recurring portrayal of a white woman. He also poked fun at speculation about his appearance and said he would not be toned down for the broadcast. He acknowledged the show’s limits on profanity and whiteface, then joked about whether he would follow them.

Druski introduced Emma Stone as his co-star in the upcoming Universal comedy The Catch, and claimed that he played her romantic interest. Stone corrected him, explaining that their characters were not love interests, then joked that his behavior on set made more sense to her now. Druski also mentioned Stone’s film Bugonia, before admitting he had brought it up to be the first Black man to say so.

The Catch also features actor Chris Pine and SNL performer Ashley Padilla. Stone’s husband, Dave McCary, is directing the film.
