Druski Signs Multiyear Netflix Deal for Original Comedy

The deal brings Druski, whose full name is Drew Desbordes, and his 4LIFERS Entertainment company into a multiyear partnership with Netflix to create original programming. Collect & Praise is the first project announced under the agreement.

In the semi-scripted comedy, Druski plays a megachurch pastor known for seeking money, with Mike Epps as his deacon. The characters scheme through scandal and disorder. The series grew out of a sketch featuring Druski’s pastor character and was self-funded before Netflix acquired it.

Netflix will also make some of Druski’s earlier work available, including a romantic comedy, a fatherhood-themed title and an audition collection, along with comedic skits. His YouTube series and skits have amassed more than 1 billion views collectively.

Druski said the partnership would help his team reach a global audience and develop more programming. Netflix executive John Derderian called the series a starting point for the collaboration. Druski has said Netflix previously declined several of his projects; he described the situation as having since changed.
