Carson Daly to Co-Host Saturday Morning Show

Daly is adding the Saturday morning broadcast to his work with NBC. He will share the anchor role with Laura Jarrett, starting November 7, after Peter Alexander left the network for MS NOW earlier this year.

Daly will keep appearing on the weekday morning program, where he has worked since 2013. His NBC commitments also include hosting and executive-producing The Voice and executive-producing The Voice: Celebrity. The Saturday assignment means his NBC News schedule will span six days each week.

Joe Fryer will continue as a feature anchor on the weekend program, with Angie Lassman remaining its meteorologist. Jarrett focuses on legal issues. NBC News executive Libby Leist said the network was pleased viewers would see Daly an additional day and described him and Jarrett as a strong pairing.

Daly began at Today with social media and digital coverage, and later became more involved in the broadcast’s anchor lineup. Before that, he hosted Last Call with Carson Daly and MTV’s Total Request Live, and has worked on NBC’s The Voice since 2002.

NBC’s Saturday lineup change follows adjustments to the weekend anchors at ABC’s Good Morning America. Daly’s first Saturday broadcast with Jarrett will launch a new pairing for the program.
