Bueckers and Fudd Say They Split More Than a Year Ago

Bueckers and Fudd announced their breakup during an appearance together on Fudd’s podcast on November 6, clarifying that they were no longer dating when Fudd joined Bueckers on the Dallas Wings earlier this year. Bueckers said they had been apart for over a year and that Fudd’s draft selection was based on her basketball ability, not their past relationship.

The two played together at UConn and won a national championship in 2025. Their relationship had drawn attention after they became public about it, and speculation intensified when Dallas selected Fudd with the top pick in this year’s draft.

Bueckers said the former couple remains friends and that they played a full season together as professionals. Both asked people to stop sending them or their families hostile comments about their romance and one another. Fudd also said they did not need messages about what the other was doing.

The Wings finished 27-17 and reached the playoffs, where they lost their first-round series to the eventual champion Golden State Valkyries, 2-1. Fudd averaged 13.1 points over 30 games in her rookie season but missed the postseason because a right knee injury ended her year and necessitated an operation. Bueckers averaged 16 points per game in her playoff debut.
