Belichick Rejects Question About Reported Hudson Breakup

Belichick was asked about the reported breakup during a media availability ahead of North Carolina’s game against UConn. “Do you work for a tabloid now?” he replied, adding that he would keep his personal relationships private. He then moved on to other questions.

Reports published over the weekend said Belichick, 74, and Hudson, 25, quietly ended their relationship late last year. They are said to remain close friends and business partners, while Hudson has begun seeing other people. Neither has publicly addressed the reported split.

The news drew attention in part because Hudson had recently appeared at Tar Heels games and events with Belichick. She was on the sidelines for North Carolina’s October 24 game against Syracuse, but was absent for the team’s 38-35 loss to Miami on October 31. Two people in UNC’s football program were reportedly caught off guard by the breakup news.

They first crossed paths aboard a plane in 2021, and reports say their relationship began in 2022. They made a public red-carpet appearance together in December 2024. Their relationship has also attracted scrutiny over their age difference and Hudson’s association with the UNC program.

North Carolina, which is 4-4, is on a two-game losing streak and is scheduled to play UConn on the road on November 7. The Tar Heels have four games remaining this season.
