Patriots’ TreVeyon Henderson Says Neurological Symptoms Led to Hospitalization
Henderson said he experienced a medical emergency involving neurological symptoms and spent several days in hospital for testing and evaluation. He described the results as reassuring, but said doctors had not established what caused the symptoms. A source close to him said he had not suffered a stroke.
The running back said his symptoms have affected his strength, coordination and some physical functions. He is working with specialists and physical therapists on recovery, and said his recovery and future quality of life come first. He and his wife thanked the Patriots organization, his medical team, teammates and others for their support, and asked for privacy.
Henderson missed New England’s game in Miami and was absent from practice this week. The team listed him with an illness; he was first added to the practice report on October 29. His most recent game was October 22 against Chicago, when he carried three times for nine yards.
In his second season with New England, Henderson has 203 rushing yards and one touchdown on 52 carries this season, along with five catches for 45 yards. He previously said he had played through a concussion late in the 2021 college season and experienced lingering effects. The reports provided no timetable for his return to football.
