Zhuri James Chose to Stay in Los Angeles While LeBron Moved East
On November 3, Savannah James said her 12-year-old daughter, Zhuri, decided to remain in Los Angeles after LeBron James left the Lakers for the Philadelphia 76ers. Savannah discussed the choice on a podcast collaboration with Keke Palmer.
Savannah said the family talked with Zhuri about possible arrangements, including going to school in New York or Philadelphia. Zhuri was concerned about how she would see her father, but ultimately did not want to be away from school for an extended period. She also wanted to continue playing with her teammates and spending time with friends.
The family plans to visit LeBron, Savannah said, and she and Zhuri still travel east to see him when they can. The choice allows Zhuri to keep her routine and activities in Los Angeles while maintaining time with her father. The James family is expected to reunite in Los Angeles on Christmas Day, when the 76ers are scheduled to visit.
