Man Found Dead After Fire at Lauderhill Condo

Lauderhill police found a man dead inside a unit at the Hidden Forest condominium complex, in the 4200 block of Northwest 19th Street, on Thursday night, November 5. Firefighters arrived shortly afterward and found that the unit had caught fire. The cause and timing of the fire have not been established; the condo owners said it appeared to have started near the stove.

The owners said they rented the first-floor unit to a woman who was staying there with the man. They said the woman contacted them after she went out of town and could not reach him by phone. The owners then asked the complex’s landlords to check the unit.

When the landlords arrived Thursday night, the unit appeared dark and its blinds were closed, the owners said. Residents said a dog was also inside. It remained in the unit on Friday morning, November 6. Lauderhill police and fire officials were continuing to investigate.
