Woman charged after man found dead near Rhome

Deputies and Texas Rangers responded on the morning of November 3 after a passerby reported finding a body beside Hickory Street in southeast Wise County, near Rhome. The man was later identified as Jorge Sosa-Vargas, a 26-year-old Fort Worth resident.

Investigators arrested Paula Blancas-Espinosa, 36, of Fort Worth, on November 5. She faces a murder charge in connection with Sosa-Vargas’s death.

Authorities said the killing stemmed from a domestic situation and appeared to be an isolated event. They have not released further details about the circumstances. The investigation remains ongoing, and the sheriff’s office plans to provide additional information as appropriate.
