Kane extends Bayern contract through 2029
Bayern Munich announced on November 5 that Harry Kane had signed a new contract running through the end of the 2028-29 season. His previous deal was due to expire at the end of the current campaign. The 33-year-old joined Bayern from Tottenham in 2023, and the extension followed lengthy negotiations.
Kane said he felt at home at the club and wanted to continue winning trophies there. He also set his sights on helping Bayern claim the Champions League, a major title still missing from his record. The club has won two German league titles, a German Cup and two Super Cups during his time in Munich.
The forward has scored 156 goals in 161 appearances for Bayern. His 73 goals for club and country last season helped him earn the Ballon d’Or, making him the first English winner in 25 years and the first player from the German league to receive the award in three decades.
Bayern president Herbert Hainer said Kane had become an important part of the club’s history and had won the support of its fans. Kane praised coach Vincent Kompany, who is recovering from an illness that required hospital treatment. The club is keeping work matters from Kompany while he recuperates.
Kane’s new deal will keep him at Bayern through the 2028 European Championship. He will be 35 when the contract ends. Bayern’s next match is against Mainz on November 7.
