Aina Unveils a Smart Ring for Managing AI Agents

The titanium Aina Ring pairs a small screen with a joystick, microphone and speaker. The startup says users can use it to approve or reject suggested tasks without taking out a phone, as well as talk to AI agents, dictate notes and take calls.

Aina’s software can draw on connected personal data, including calendars, locations and email, to offer prompts called Aina Cues. Examples include suggesting a ride to work or asking whether to send a message about arriving late to a meeting. Users can also create their own prompts in natural language, the company says.

The ring can provide controls that change with the activity on a connected Mac or phone, such as meeting settings, music playback or smart-home devices. Its screen is intended to show whether an action has gone through. Aina also says users can connect outside AI agents to carry out tasks through virtual browsers.

The product builds on Mirage, an earlier three-button controller that Aina tested with Mac applications. The company raised $5.5 million in July. Its founder, Apoorv Shankar, previously worked as a hardware executive at smart-ring maker Ultrahuman.

Preorders opened on November 5 at an introductory price of $399. Aina plans to begin shipping in January 2027, after which the price is set to rise to $499. Some functions depend on compatible apps and services, and the company is still developing parts of the software.
