Valkyries to Celebrate Title With Waterfront Parade

San Francisco is preparing to welcome the Golden State Valkyries along the waterfront after their Game 7 victory over the Atlanta Dream secured the franchise’s first WNBA championship. The parade will start at the Ferry Building at noon on November 4 and head south along the Embarcadero, finishing near the intersection of Second and King streets at approximately 2 p.m. Spectators may start assembling along the route at 9 a.m.

The Valkyries clinched the title with a 68-63 win at Chase Center. Finals MVP Gabby Williams scored 30 points, including 28 after halftime, as Golden State came back from a nine-point deficit.

Preparations are visible across the city, with barricades being installed and championship banners appearing on streetlights. Fans have also been buying newly released championship merchandise. One supporter described the decisive game as “absolute cinema.”

San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie, Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee and San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan are expected to attend. Lurie has encouraged fans to join the celebration.

City officials are urging parade-goers to arrive early and take public transit where possible. Parking is expected to be scarce along the route; BART plans additional trains, and San Francisco police will increase security.
