Man Dies After Scooter Collides With Chicago Police Vehicle

A 39-year-old scooter rider died after colliding with a Chicago police vehicle early on November 5 near South Princeton Avenue and 32nd Street, police said. The collision occurred around 12:30 a.m. as officers were patrolling in a marked vehicle traveling north on Princeton Avenue.

The scooter rider was taken to Stroger Hospital with injuries to his body and was pronounced dead there. Both officers in the police vehicle were also transported to a nearby hospital for care.

The Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating the circumstances of the collision.
