Woman Defends Fiancé Accused of Plotting Buckeye Home Attack
On November 4, Torres told a judge she did not believe her fiancé, 23-year-old Dyer, had planned the attack. She said Ayala was making false claims to excuse himself. Police have accused Dyer of arranging for Ayala, 20, to break into the couple’s Buckeye home and assault Torres.
Police say the attack happened on October 16. Torres has said Ayala entered the home and attacked her while she was with her young children. She fought him off, and he ran when Dyer arrived. Torres described being alerted that the front door had opened and finding a stranger there instead of her partner.
Investigators allege Dyer communicated with Ayala online about the plan, including when to arrive and where to park. Police say messages and other evidence link Dyer to the alleged arrangement, and that Ayala provided devices containing communications between the men. Investigators also say Dyer wanted Ayala to contact him by FaceTime during the attack.
Ayala told police the two men had arranged a role-play encounter online, authorities have said. Torres disputed Dyer’s alleged involvement in court but did not address the digital evidence described by investigators.
Both men have been arrested. Ayala is charged with abduction, sexual misconduct, unlawful entry and felony assault. Dyer is jailed under a $500,000 bond and faces charges including conspiracy, kidnapping, sexual abuse and attempted sexual assault.
