Buckeye Fiancé Arrested in Alleged Online Assault Plot
Buckeye police say 23-year-old Zarian Dyer arranged online for 20-year-old Adrian Ayala to sexually assault Dyer’s fiancée. Dyer was arrested on October 29 while employed close to Roosevelt Street and Verrado Way. Police say the motive is unclear.
The attack took place around 6 p.m. on October 16 at the woman’s home near Southern Avenue and Miller Road. She was there with her two children when Ayala entered and assaulted her. She fought him off, and he left before officers arrived.
Police identified Ayala the following day and arrested him at his Goodyear home. Investigators later examined electronic devices belonging to Ayala and Dyer. Police say the data showed communications about the planned attack. In a court appearance, Ayala’s attorney said Ayala believed the encounter was a role-play scenario and that the woman had consented.
Dyer faces counts of conspiracy, kidnapping, sexual abuse, aggravated assault and attempted sexual assault. Court records also list charges against Ayala including kidnapping, sexual abuse, burglary and aggravated assault. Ayala’s trial is scheduled for April 1, 2027. No court date for Dyer was provided.
