Whitney Leavitt to Star in Her Own Hulu Reality Series
On November 4, Hulu greenlit an untitled reality series starring Whitney Leavitt, who will also produce the show. It will document how her family and Leavitt respond to her rising profile and career goals while making family life a priority.
The series is produced by Leavitt Media House, 3BMG and Jeff Jenkins Productions. Leavitt’s husband, Conner, will executive produce with her, along with Amanda Weinstein, Ross Weintraub, Jeff Jenkins, Reinout Oerlemans, Brandon Beck and Russell Jay-Staglik.
Leavitt said in May that she would depart The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives following its fifth season. The series has since been renewed for 20 more episodes, but she is not expected to return to future seasons. She kept filming the show as she competed on Dancing with the Stars and played Roxie Hart in the Broadway production of Chicago.
Her recent projects also include a feature-film debut in a holiday romantic comedy, which she executive produced. She is set to return to Broadway next month in the musical Just in Time and will appear in the forthcoming Peacock series The Traitors.
Hulu is also growing the Mormon Wives franchise with an Orange County edition of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, set to premiere on November 12.
