McCall DaPron Draws Backlash Over Kennedy Halloween Costumes
On October 31, McCall DaPron was facing criticism over a family Halloween look inspired by President John F. Kennedy and first lady Jacqueline Kennedy on the day of his assassination in 1963. DaPron, 36, is set to join Hulu's upcoming reality series about Mormon wives in Orange County.
In Instagram photos, DaPron wore a pink suit and hat, while her husband, Kirk, dressed as the former president. Their four children portrayed Kennedy children and Secret Service agents. DaPron captioned the post, “Happy Halloween 🩷 The Kennedys.”
Some users criticized the outfits as insensitive, with one saying the look was “appallingly distasteful.” Another wrote that the costume depicted a woman on the worst day of her life. DaPron later disabled comments on the post but left the images up.
The Orange County spinoff is scheduled to premiere on Hulu on November 12. DaPron is the sister of original series cast member Mayci Neeley; the new show’s cast also includes Jen Affleck, Aspyn Ovard and Bobbi Althoff.
