Looks like starter homes will remain in illegal in much of Massachusetts

On November 4, 2026, Massachusetts Question 7, which would have limited towns’ minimum lot-size requirements to 5,000 square feet, was trailing by about one percentage point with 89% of votes counted. Wellesley voters opposed the measure, 58% to 42%.
