Caitlin Clark Signs First-Ever Athlete Deals With Dick’s and Foot Locker
The Indiana Fever star will work with the retailers on national and international campaigns, including promotions for her signature footwear, apparel and other products. The partnership will also involve retail and digital experiences, fan events, appearances and community programming aimed at bringing people closer to sports.
Clark said Dick’s was a familiar stop for her family before each sports season when she was growing up, making the agreement a full-circle moment. Dick’s executive chairman Ed Stack said the companies see an opportunity to build on basketball’s popularity and connect with fans across sports.
The deal comes as Clark’s signature Nike shoe has drawn strong demand. Some customers criticized the limited availability of a recent release, raising questions about whether the new retail partnership could affect access to future products; no such change was announced.
Clark is coming off a record-setting WNBA season. She scored 891 points across 40 games, surpassing Diana Taurasi’s previous single-season mark of 860, and established the Fever’s top single-game total by putting up 45 versus the Seattle Storm. Her off-court partnerships also include deals with Panini, Gainbridge and Wilson.
