Jon Gosselin Describes Years of Estrangement From His Children

On the Legally Goff Podcast, Jon Gosselin said he has not heard his twin daughters Madelyn and Cara speak in years. He said the distance began when they were 13 and described feeling abruptly removed from their lives after being an active, everyday parent. Gosselin is 49; the twins are 26.

He said he had missed their graduations and proms and knew little about their current lives. He added that he has photographs of them but might not recognize them in person. Gosselin said he wants them to contact him, even if only by text.

Gosselin said he remains in contact with two of his sextuplets, Collin and Hannah, both 22. He said he last saw his other four sextuplets—Joel, Aaden, Alexis and Leah—in 2018. Hannah recently said she had not lived with her father or spoken with Collin in about a year.

Gosselin speculated that his children may believe a negative account of him and said he believes their mother, Kate Gosselin, told them he did not want to see them. Collin has made abuse allegations in a memoir; Kate has denied those accusations. Collin and Hannah are set to appear with their father in an upcoming Netflix documentary about the family’s time on television.
