Tyler Huntley’s Season-Ending Injury Leaves Ravens Short at Quarterback
Huntley was hurt in the second quarter of Baltimore’s 35-6 loss to the Bills when defensive lineman Ed Oliver tackled him. He did not return, and the injury is expected to send him to injured reserve, further depleting the Ravens’ quarterback options after Lamar Jackson was injured on the game’s opening play the previous week.
Undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano took over against Buffalo, completing 10 of 21 passes for 91 yards, with no touchdowns and one interception. He also sustained an ankle injury and did not practice November 3. He was seen wearing an ankle brace and heavy tape.
Fagnano is still expected to start against the Jaguars on November 5, with Kaden Slovis as his backup. Baltimore signed Slovis from Green Bay’s practice squad and added Austin Reed, who had not been on a roster, to its own practice squad as a possible emergency option.
Jackson is likely to land on the sidelined-player list, and no comeback date has been set. The Ravens’ quarterback situation leaves open whether they will seek a trade before the November 10 deadline.
