Taylor Red Singer Nicole Taylor Dies at 35 After Cancer Battle
Nicole Taylor, a country singer who performed with her identical triplet sisters in Taylor Red, died in Nashville on September 28 at age 35. Nika and Natalie Taylor announced her death on November 2 in a video shared online, saying their sister was no longer suffering. Her family held a private funeral ceremony.
Taylor was diagnosed with aggressive stage-three breast cancer in 2022. Her sisters said she initially responded well to treatment and was told there was no evidence of disease, but the cancer later returned and advanced to stage four. Doctors gave her an estimate of around three months; she lived for about a year after that prognosis. Her sisters recalled that she continued working and traveling, and encouraged them not to live in fear.
The three sisters began performing together in Mississippi as Red Roots around 2010 and adopted the name Taylor Red in 2018. The group gained a large online following, with more than 13 million TikTok followers and over 16 million YouTube subscribers. Their song “Country Money” became popular on social media, and the trio also opened for established performers including Amy Grant and Diamond Rio.
Nika and Natalie remembered Nicole as their leader and best friend, and spoke about the role her Christian faith played during her illness. A memorial page has been set up in her name.
