Julia Stiles Eliminated After ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Disney Night
The eight remaining couples performed routines inspired by Disney stories and Broadway productions. Tony Award winner Cynthia Erivo joined the panelists—Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba and Derek Hough—while the contestants also competed in team dances with co-hosts Alfonso Ribeiro and Julianne Hough.
Stiles and Sosa danced a paso doble to “Satisfied” from Hamilton and received 33 out of 40 points. Stiles performed while dealing with rib pain that had flared during rehearsals. After the elimination, she said the experience had drawn out abilities she had not realized she had. Sosa called partnering with her an honor.
Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson scored 40 for their jazz routine to “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from Mary Poppins. Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy also earned 40, for a quickstep to “Be Our Guest” from Beauty and the Beast. Shum Jr. and Johnson won immunity for next week’s dance-off, edging Dewan and Chmerkovskiy by one cumulative season point.
Team Wildcats, featuring Shum Jr., Dewan, Ezra Frech and Connor Wood, scored 40 for its freestyle to “We’re All in This Together” from High School Musical. Team Slaytopia, which included Stiles, scored 36 for its routine to “Zoo” from Zootopia 2.
The competition continues next week. New episodes air Tuesdays on ABC and Disney+, with streaming on Hulu the following day.
