Pickens Hurries to Locker Room After Cowboys’ Overtime Loss
The Cowboys let a 14-point fourth-quarter lead slip away before Arizona won 33-30 on Chad Ryland’s 42-yard field goal in overtime. Video showed wide receiver George Pickens running through the stadium tunnel toward the locker room just after the kick went through, ahead of the other Dallas players shown in the footage.
Pickens was targeted four times and caught two passes for 48 yards. CeeDee Lamb had 11 targets. Pickens played 42 snaps, fewer than Lamb’s 56 and Ryan Flournoy’s 50.
Dallas fell to 3-5, and the loss added to questions about Pickens’ role and future with the team. He is playing on the franchise tag, and the NFL trade deadline is November 10. The Cowboys could consider trade calls as they look to replenish draft picks after recent trades.
Quarterback Dak Prescott said he would review the film to see whether he had missed opportunities to get Pickens the ball. He said Pickens made plays when targeted, while acknowledging he was unsure how many targets the receiver had. Dallas faces the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9.
