Jaguars Crush Colts 42-7 as Taylor Trade Talk Grows

The Jacksonville Jaguars routed the Indianapolis Colts 42-7 on November 1, extending Indianapolis’ winless run at Jacksonville to 12 games. The Colts fell to 2-6, and their hopes of winning the AFC South appeared finished.

Jacksonville led 28-0 at halftime. Trevor Lawrence threw three touchdown passes, while Bayshul Tuten scored twice. Rayuan Lane intercepted a pass and ran it back 92 yards for a touchdown just before halftime.

Jonathan Taylor, the subject of trade speculation, had 23 yards on eight carries and fumbled during a trick play. The Colts turned down an offer built around a second-round pick. The team had traded Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner five days earlier. It remains uncertain whether Taylor will still be with Indianapolis when the team hosts Dallas next week.

Daniel Jones connected on 19 of 28 throws, gaining 144 yards, with one touchdown and two interceptions. He was replaced by Anthony Richardson in the fourth quarter. Josh Downs scored the Colts’ only points, while rookie defender CJ Allen made 10 tackles and recorded a sack in his first career start.

The loss came amid further questions about the Colts’ direction. Downs had requested a trade earlier in the week, and coach Shane Steichen’s decisions drew criticism after the defeat.
