Jaguars Crush Colts 42-7 Behind Lawrence’s Three Touchdowns

Trevor Lawrence threw three touchdown passes as Jacksonville rolled past Indianapolis in rainy conditions. The Jaguars improved to 5-2, while the Colts fell to 2-6 and extended their losing streak to four games. Jacksonville has now won seven straight regular-season home games, outscoring opponents 271-75 during that run.

Jacksonville led 28-0 at halftime, its third-largest halftime advantage in team history. Lawrence completed 10 of 14 passes for 210 yards, connecting with Brian Thomas Jr., rookie Nate Boerkircher and Bhayshul Tuten for scores. Tuten also broke several tackles on a 39-yard touchdown run, while safety Rayuan Lane took a pick 92 yards to the end zone just before halftime.

The Colts’ loss came five days after they traded defensive tackle DeForest Buckner and guard Quenton Nelson as part of a rebuilding effort. Indianapolis running back Jonathan Taylor managed 23 yards on eight carries and lost a fumble on a trick play. Quarterback Daniel Jones threw for 144 yards and a touchdown, but was intercepted twice and replaced by Anthony Richardson in the fourth quarter.

Jacksonville’s victory came with a significant injury concern: nose tackle DaVon Hamilton hurt his right knee in the second quarter and was taken off the field by cart. Safety Eric Murray, defensive end Travon Walker and right guard Ezra Cleveland also left with injuries.

The Colts are scheduled to host Dallas next Sunday. Jacksonville’s next game is Thursday night at Baltimore.
