Jack Campbell Hospitalized After Neck Injury During Lions’ Win

Campbell was injured early in the fourth quarter while trying to stop Minnesota tight end T.J. Hockenson. He stayed face down on the field as medical personnel treated him, then was secured to a backboard and taken off in a cart. Players and coaches from both teams gathered nearby as he was removed.

The Lions said Campbell was taken to a local hospital for evaluation of a neck injury. Coach Dan Campbell said he had no further update after the game, adding that the linebacker was being cared for. He also said Jack was conscious and responsive as he departed the stadium.

The team later announced Campbell would spend the night at the hospital for continued evaluation and monitoring. Teammates showed visible emotion, and the Lions gathered to support him after the injury.

Detroit held a 12-7 lead when Campbell went down and went on to win 19-15. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs scored on a 30-yard run as the Lions improved to 5-2 and handed Minnesota its first loss of the season.

Campbell, 26, had three tackles before leaving the game. A first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection last season, he recorded 176 tackles and five sacks in 2025. Detroit selected him 18th overall in 2023 and signed him to a four-year, $81 million extension.
