Wyoming Mother Missing After Failing to Pick Up Children
Published November 1, 2026.
Gunter’s sister, Kayla, contacted police after the 30-year-old failed to collect her 9- and 6-year-old children from Casper’s Boys & Girls Club. The sisters had spoken by phone at 10:41 a.m. on October 29, but Kayla said nothing in their conversation seemed unusual. Gunter stopped answering calls afterward.
Gunter had relocated from Nevada to Casper roughly a month before, hoping to live nearer her children. She was living with their father and assisting with their care. Kayla said the relocation seemed to be working out, and her sister had given no indication that she intended to depart or end communication. They usually talked by telephone at least three times daily.
Casper police said Gunter was last seen in person on October 29 in Natrona County. She was believed to be driving a gray pickup, a 2016 GMC Canyon bearing temporary Wyoming tags. Her phone was last located around 12:30 p.m. on October 30 along Highway 387, close to Natrona County’s border. The family was also told the phone had registered near Gillette around noon on October 29.
Gunter is 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs about 185 pounds, and has black hair and blue eyes. A butterfly tattoo is among the designs on her neck, along with other tattoos. Anyone with information about her or the pickup should contact Casper police at 307-235-8278. Confidential leads may be given to Central Wyoming Crime Stoppers at 307-577-8477 or crimestopperscasper.org.
