Heidi Klum Arrives as a Severed Hand at Halloween Party

Klum made a dramatic entrance at her annual Halloween celebration in New York City on October 31, marking 25 years of hosting the party. Her costume turned her into a giant severed hand, with her face set inside the bloody wrist and long red nails extending from its fingers.

The replica was modeled on Klum’s left hand and included her rings and a “Tom” tattoo on one finger, a reference to her husband, musician Tom Kaulitz. Actors in hazmat suits helped her down from a truck bearing red danger signs. Kaulitz was away on tour and did not attend.

Klum said the idea came to her after looking at her own hand and wondering whether she could fit her body inside a version of it. Getting into costume took about five to six hours, while her team spent months creating it. She also described it as heavy to carry.

She had teased the transformation on social media before the event, sharing glimpses of prosthetics and the makeup process. Klum is known for elaborate Halloween looks, including Medusa, E.T., a worm and a peacock. Last year, she and Kaulitz appeared as Medusa and a soldier turned to stone.
