Marietta Man Arrested After Stabbing Brother and Hours-Long Standoff
Marietta police responded to a reported family dispute involving an assault inside a residence along North Saint Marys Lane shortly before 9:30 a.m. on October 30. Officers found a 40-year-old man who had been stabbed in the shoulder. He told them his younger brother had stabbed him and was still inside the home.
The injured man was treated for injuries described as non-life-threatening. Police identified the younger brother as Jeffrey White, 38.
White remained inside and did not cooperate with officers for several hours, leading to a standoff. Police negotiators eventually persuaded him to come outside and surrender, and he was arrested.
The charges listed include aggravated assault with a weapon. Police descriptions also name aggravated assault and aggravated battery as charges. Authorities have not disclosed what specific dispute preceded the stabbing.
