Run-DMC’s DMC Involved in Los Angeles Freeway Crash

Darryl McDaniels, the rapper known as DMC who helped form Run-DMC, was caught up in a collision with a garbage truck on the 105 Freeway in Los Angeles on October 30. He appeared to be uninjured after the crash.

Video from the scene showed McDaniels outside a black SUV, speaking with first responders. The vehicle was facing the wrong direction on the roadway, and footage showed substantial damage to its right side. The SUV was later seen being towed away.

The crash took place near Hoover Street in the Harbor Gateway area, with another account locating it just east of Vermont Avenue. The footage showed McDaniels standing by the driver’s side with the door open. It was not clear whether he had been driving when the collision occurred, or what led to the crash.
