Jets’ David Bailey Doubtful for Raiders Game With Groin Injury
Published October 30, 2026. Bailey missed his third consecutive practice on Friday, and coach Aaron Glenn said the second overall pick could be a game-time decision. Bailey leads the Jets with 5.5 sacks through seven games, making his likely absence a setback for a defense already missing two starters.
Defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat, who has a knee injury, and edge rusher Joseph Ossai, sidelined with an ankle problem, have been ruled out. Sweat’s absence could also hurt against the run: New York allows 127.7 rushing yards per game, ranking 24th in the NFL.
Nate Lynn is expected to get more opportunities in the pass-rushing rotation if Bailey cannot play. The undrafted player recorded his first career sack against Miami last week, though he played only three defensive snaps. Glenn said Lynn would have a larger role and expressed confidence in his ability to perform.
The Jets are looking to end a two-game losing streak, while Las Vegas has lost four straight. Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty has criticized New York’s tackling, but Glenn and Jets players said their focus was on Sunday’s game. Jeanty is averaging 3.1 yards per carry.
Running back Breece Hall and left guard Dylan Parham are questionable, while reserve lineman Max Mitchell is set to sit out another game as he remains in concussion protocol. The Raiders are expected to continue with Kirk Cousins at quarterback; top draft pick Fernando Mendoza has appeared in one game, completing six of eight passes in limited action.
